FOUCAULT: this device is used to measure the defects (in lenghts of lightwave) of optical surfaces. For example, itīs useful to control de polish of a primary mirror from a reflector telescope. Through a LED in the movile device (picture on the right) a shadowgram is obtained on the surface of the glass. By making the right interpretation of this pattern, you may determine the kind of defect and correct it using differnt polishing techniques.
